New Pattern Release – O & A Apron Collection

Another pattern for Ollie & Annie Collection is finally here and just in time for the holiday baking season! I’d like to introduce the O & A Apron Collection.

threeaprons1

When I started creating these patterns in 2015, I wanted a pattern that would work for everyone. One pattern, 3 different apron styles and for boys and girls. In my house all of my children love being in the kitchen. I figured why not make new aprons for all of my kids to use, especially during the holiday baking season. Now you can make aprons for all of your kids too!  The best part about all three of the aprons is that they are reversible. The pattern also includes a matching apron for your child’s 18″ doll.

More about the Apron Collection:

  • The O & A Apron Collection pattern is available for boys and girls, sizes 2-12, 18″ doll.
  • Pattern is available in PDF form only and can be instantly downloaded in the Ollie and Annie Etsy shop.
  • All three apron patterns plus the appliques are sold together as a set.
  • Pattern includes detailed instructions with colored photos and even simple sewing explanations on basic sewing techniques. This pattern is perfect for the intermediate beginner to advanced seamstress.
  • 12 different seasonal appliqués that are sized in conjunction with the size you are making and two versions of pockets are included.

The three aprons are separated by Apron A, Apron B and Apron C. Below is a brief describe each version.

Apron A

Apron A is a full basic pattern. There are two options for the neck tie, adjustable or tied. The corners are straight in this apron pattern and a basic pocket pattern is included.

Apron B

Apron B is similar to version A, however there are more feminine details and rounded corners. A decorative panel as well as a ruffle is included at the bottom. Like version A, there are two options for the neck tie, adjustable or tied.

Apron C

Apron C is a reversible half apron that ties at the waist. This pattern is made with a center waistband with waist ties that have the slightest beautiful details.

A fun addition to this pattern is the matching 18″ doll pattern. All three of the aprons have a size just for you child’s doll.

Pockets

The pockets included in the pattern are either very simple or can be gathered with ric rack, lace and buttons to make it as cute as can be. Use your creative mind to make the apron your very own unique creation.

Adding Applique

In addition to the pockets, 12 different appliqués can be added to your apron. Choose the appliqué file according to the apron size you are making. Then start adding some fun details!  These are perfect for making cute little aprons year round.

As always, I am fortunate to have such a wonderful group of testers testing my patterns. For the Apron Collection, as usual, the testers created beautiful aprons. Below are some photos I wanted to share.

Thank you for reading about the O & A Collection Apron pattern. I hope you enjoy these patterns as much as I loved creating them.  You can find the O & A Collection Apron pattern for purchase at my Etsy Store. New Pattern Release – The Ellie Dress and Tunic

After a short break and welcoming a new baby into our family, I am happy to announce the release of a new pattern, the Ellie!

DSC04553edit

When I started creating this pattern last summer, I was anticipating the arrival of our second daughter. Summers are typically very hot where we are and so I wanted to create something that my girls could wear that was simple, cool, but also very feminine. In addition, my oldest daughter loves her leggings and shorts so why not make it possible to include a tunic in the mix. The skirt is fun for girls of all ages because it is full enough to spin in! Im excited for this pattern release and to introduce a fun little addition to your little girls wardrobe.

Halloween Flair with Ollie and Annie Collection Patterns

Halloween is just around the corner! I can’t believe that in no time at all our little ones will be dressing up for this fun and spooky holiday. Im sure many of you, if you haven’t already, are starting to think about making costumes or even just fun dresses or skirts for Halloween. Ollie and Annie can help you with those creations as many of our patterns are so versatile that you can create costumes or Halloween themed dresses to fit the occasion!

Bubbly Bubble Skirt

This skirt was Ollie and Annie’s first pattern. It is a very quick and easy pattern to follow and construct. What makes our version different from the traditional bubble skirt is that the “bubble” is a soft bubble version without all of the filling to make it pop out. For a traditional Halloween skirt, mixing various Halloween themed fabrics can make the basic Bubbly Bubble skirt a fun Holiday piece for your little one!

This year my daughter is going to be Doc McStuffins for Halloween. Many little girls love Doc and her stuffed toys she so lovingly nurses back to health. The Bubbly Bubble skirt is a perfect pattern for Doc’s skirt! All you need is basic pink cotton fabric.

Mabel Dress

The Mabel dress is such a fun vintage style dress! Does your little girls want a Great Gatsby themed Halloween costume from the 1920’s? Or a vintage 1960’s costume? The Mabel dress is perfect! Because this dress is so versatile, you can add any fabric, lace, buttons or even monogram it to fit your theme.

 Isabella Dress or Tunic

The Isabella is the latest pattern release by Ollie and Annie Collection. This pattern can be made as a tunic or dress and even has enough room for a long sleeve shirt underneath. These two versions of the dress are a perfect example of taking the Isabella and making it perfect for a Halloween themed outfit! To find a free tutorial on the bow and belt added to the Isabella in the photo below, click here.

New Pattern Release – The Isabella Dress and Tunic

I am so thrilled to finally release the Isabella! The Isabella is a fun PDF pattern that is so versatile for all seasons and can be made with a vast variety of different fabrics. I hope you enjoy making this pattern for your girls!

IsabellaEDIT2

The revolution of the Isabella started nearly a year ago. Originally the dress was going to have sleeves, but I was never 100% sure with the outcome of the dress. Then it all made sense that this little dress was meant to be a jumper instead! To take it a step further, why not shorten it a little and pair it with leggings. At this point the pleated dress and tunic was born.

IsabellaEDIT

More about the Isabella:

The Isabella is a high waisted, pleated dress or tunic. The back of the garment has a button loop closure. The Isabella is made with a little room to put a shirt underneath, but is not too much room that it can be worn during the summer months.

  • The pattern is available in sizes 12 months – 12 years
  • The Isabella is available in PDF form only and can be instantly downloaded in the Ollie and Annie Etsy shop.
  • A pleat guide is available to assist in making perfect pleats for this pattern. No more guessing!
  • Pattern includes detailed instructions with colored photos and even simple sewing explanations on basic sewing techniques. This pattern is perfect for the intermediate beginner to advanced seamstress.

As always, I am fortunate to have such a wonderful group of testers testing my patterns. For the Isabella they once again out did themselves and created beautiful dresses and tunics. Below are some photos I wanted to share.

Details on Pleats

The pleats on the Isabella are simple open pleats. The beautiful pleats give the dress and tunic a beautiful shape with a fuller skirt shape. Included in the pattern is a pleat guide. The pleat guide is helpful in showing exactly where the pleats are on the skirt and where to fold them.  Every time you make this pattern your pleats will be perfect!

New Pattern Release – The Mabel Dress

After over a month of drafting, sewing and testing I am happy to announce that The Mabel Dress is finally here! I am so excited to share this pattern with all of you and I hope you enjoy creating beautiful Mabel dresses as much as I enjoyed creating the pattern.

CoverPurpleFence

So how did the Mabel dress come to be? I love classic, vintage looking dresses that make little girls look like little girls. I didn’t see any drop waist dresses and figured it was time to create one. So out came the drafting paper, pencils, rulers and lots of snacks and now we have the Mabel Dress. Once I was done with the dresses, my daughter had some friends over and they all loved trying on the dresses I made from this pattern.

More about the Mabel:

The Mabel dress is a vintage styled drop waist dress with a flared skirt.  It also has an option to add a belt for extra style! Best of all, this pattern is so versatile. The pattern was created with a very classical and basic bodice and flared skirt! The Mabel dress is made with a little extra room which makes it great for all seasons year round! Just pair up a shirt under the dress for colder months or wear it as is for warmer months.

  • The pattern is available in sizes 12 months to 10 years.
  • The Mabel is available in PDF form only and can be instantly downloaded in the Ollie and Annie Collection Etsy shop.
  • Pattern includes detailed instructions with colored photos and even simple sewing explanations on basic sewing techniques. This pattern is perfect for the intermediate beginner to advanced seamstress.

Variations:

While this pattern is a basic canvas of a classical vintage drop waist dress, the possibilities for variations are endless. I had a group of wonderful testers help me troubleshoot through the Mabel pattern to make it a perfect fit! The variations that my creative testers came up with blew me away! I wanted to share some of those…..

Lace Overlay

The lace overlay was sewed to the bodice and used as one piece to complete the Mabel dress. The lace added such a subtle detail that made this dress stunning!

Snaps replacing the buttons

The basic pattern calls for buttons, but many of my testers did snaps instead. This tester did a series of snaps down the back of the bodice making the Mabel dress a classic look with an easy alternative to buttons.

Perfect for the cooler weather!

The Mabel dress is made with a little more room in the bodice. With little ones, having versatile clothing that will last through seasons and growth spurts is a plus! This tester put a long sleeve shirt under the dress to show how versatile this little dress can be with Fall just around the corner! For more on this version of the Mabel click here.

Adding a bib

The addition of the bib took the basic bodice and gave it more of a vintage flare!

Button detail in the front

Just adding a simple button detail in the front of this dress takes it from a simple look to a detailed, classic look.

Flower Fun

What little girl doesn’t love flowers?! Why not add a beautiful flower to the Mabel dress and create some flair!

Halloween Flare

Spooky or not these cute little dresses make the Mabel dress a Halloween favorite.

Add a Center Ruffle

Adding a ruffle in the front center of the bodice gives the Mabel a beautiful classic detail. For a tutorial on how to add the ruffle to the Mabel, click here.

Monogrammed detail

Monogramming the Mabel dress in contrasting colors makes this dress pop in such a beautiful way!
